Food Mood Board: Welcoming Fall

On Saturday, fall officially begins. My countdown for fall has been ticking for a while now, and I am so excited to be in the final countdown. Even though I have already been in the fall mindset, it’s always nice for it to be legitimate. My food mood board is currently full of warm colors: orange, red, yellow, brown. I can’t wait to get back in the kitchen to start baking delicious, gooey pastries that perfectly accompany a big mug of apple cider.
What’s inspiring you this week?

1: Caramel Apples with Coconut & Chocolate Drizzle - caramel apples are perfect for this time of year!
2: Baked Pumpkin Autumn Maple Doughnuts - I could eat this for breakfast every morning. With #4.
3: Crunchy leaves - what is fall without them?
4: Apple Cider - the cinnamon stir sticks add a delicious warmth to the drink.
5: Raspberry Swirl Sweet Rolls - warm rolls on a crisp morning, get in my life.

Happy Friday! Wrapping up the week with a recap…

· If this is the case, then do something meaningful.

· Enjoyed shrimp and pork soup dumplings at Din Tai Fung [1st photo].

· Saw The Words starring Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana.

· Excited to be a new member of The LAMB!

· I know the Emmy Awards is not for a couple of weekends, but I am still excited to watch.

Have a productive weekend!

That’s a Wrap!

Happy Friday! Wrapping up the week with a recap…

· My friend generously surprised me with sushi sticky notes [1st photo]. They’re so cute! Check out this adorable sushi cosmetics case…I feel a trend coming on.

· This blackberry sage cooler looks like the perfect drink for these 100 degree days. Is it not September?

· While in Chicago last weekend, I appropriately indulged in a deep dish pizza from Pizzeria Uno for the first time ever. It was seriously filling [2nd photo].

· There are so many great movies coming out this fall. I’m particularly excited to see Liberal Arts. Elizabeth Olsen meets How I Met Your Mother. Kind of.

· Candy in a corner…I now know what I’m doing with that lonely looking corner in my room [3rd photo].

· Met Chef Anne Burrell at the closing party of Charlie Trotter’s - a well-known restaurant in Chicago [4th photo].

Have a relaxing weekend!

Flavor of the Month: Coffee

1. Java Chocolate Smoothie Cups | 2. Coffee Jelly with Cream | 3. Cappuccino Brownies |
4. Slow Cooker Balsamic Honey Coffee BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe | 5. Chocolate Espresso Black Pepper Cookies

Now that September is well on its way, coffee is an appropriate flavor for the month since with September comes new jobs, new school semesters, and big changes. That being said, coffee will be a necessity in the month of September to both help wake us up and to help keep us awake. Personally, I can’t stand hot coffee, and I won’t drink it unless it is iced. Since I do not want to solely rely on drinking coffee as a way to stay caffeinated, I found some great recipes that seamlessly incorporate coffee into food. Chocolate Espresso Black Pepper Cookies are at the top of my list to make – I also did an interview with the baker herself, Jane from Buttered Up (check it out here)! Cheers to September and staying awake!

Falling For These Movies

It seems as though there are just as many movies coming out in the Fall as there are fashion trends for the September Issue of Vogue. There may not be time for all of them, but I am going to try my hardest to make room to see these ones. It seems to be perfect timing now that the days are getting darker sooner…I view it as nature’s way of saying to put those hiking boots away and to make time for the movie theater.
