Casper (1995) will always be one of those special Halloween movies – I mean, who doesn’t love a friendly ghost? If you are hosting a Halloween party or are just having a themed movie night, Casper and these ghostly treats are a great combination. Eat ghosts while you watch ghosts! Flavor of the Month: Peach

1. Homemade Peach Ice Cream / 2. Rosewater Yogurt with White Peaches and Blueberries / 3. BBQ Pizza with Peaches and Ham / 4. Vanilla and Peach Mojitos /
5. Spicy Peach and Cucumber Salsa

Peaches are a great summer fruit that can be used for meals, desserts, and drinks. Peaches add sweetness to a cocktail, a unique twist to average pizza, and a fruity kick to salsa. I always consider peaches to be a real treat because it can be tricky to find them when they are ripe. I usually end up waiting a couple of days before using my peaches since I prefer them really soft and juicy. Now that peaches are finally ready for eating, buy a couple and start enjoying! What are your favorite peach recipes?

Around Town: Pizzeria Mozza, Los Angeles

I’ve been a pizza fan my entire life. I know it might seem obvious, but I have a couple of friends who don’t like pizza so it doesn’t really go without saying. I kept hearing am-ah-zing things about Pizzeria Mozza so I wanted to try it for myself. If you’ve ever been before, this would go without saying, but it is one of the best pizzas I have ever had in my entire life. So good I ate two. Everything from the chewy crust to the fresh ingredients that blanket the pizza were almost too good to be true. Nancy Silverton, Mario Batali, and Joseph Bastianich join forces to create a meal you won’t soon forget.

Super Food for the Super Bowl

The weekend has finally arrived…Super Bowl weekend! This year the 46th Super Bowl will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium where the New England Patriots and New York Giants will play for the big win. If you plan on watching the Super Bowl this Sunday, there is something you’ll want to have readily available: snacks…and lots of it! In preparation for the big game, get your food and drinks before the crowds and lines start to form at the grocery store. You will want to have snacks that are easy to grab when your eyes are glued to the television. Here are some types of food that will give you enough fuel on game-day – today is no day to worry about carbs!

→ You can’t go wrong with pizza! Convenient and filling.

→ Buffalo wings may be messy, but they are definitely delicious.

→ Salsa, guacamole, and lots of tortilla chips.

→ Kentucky Bourbon Bacon Chex Mix…need I say more?

→ Churros are warm and covered in sugar – a perfect way to top off the game!

→ If you have time to get fancy, these chocolate covered strawberries made to look like footballs are beyond great.

Pizza Bagel

One thing that I have come to depend on at college is pizza. I especially enjoy it with friends and a movie. When I am tired of dialing Domino’s Pizza and want to save money, I opt for pizza bagels. They are quick and easy, and you can get all of your ingredients in bulk so that you can make them plenty of times before running out. I was feeling fancy once day so I used Williams Sonoma’s Artichoke Garlic Pizza Sauce and San Marzano Pizza Sauce. Any pizza sauce will do, and adding real artichokes (and goat cheese) would be a delicious addition.

Ingredients:
1. Bagels
2. Pizza Sauce
3. Cheese (Mozzarella, Asiago, Parmesan, Provolone, Romano)
4. Pepperoni

How to make:
1. Spread pizza sauce over bagels
2. Sprinkle cheese over sauce
3. Top with pepperoni
4. Warm in oven for 10 minutes – some microwaves have convection bake settings, so this would work just as well!
