That’s a Wrap!

The week after Thanksgiving always drags on. The days get colder, the work load gets heavier, and all I want to do is eat cookies, watch Christmas movies, and play in the snow fall. But until then, may your days be productive and not too unbearable. I hope you all have a happy Friday! Wrapping up the week with a recap…

· Enjoyed Din Tai Fung not once, but twice, this week – when it comes to juicy dumplings: too much of a good thing is never enough [1st photo].

· Flying high over the mountains – gorgeous view! [2nd photo]

· I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that today is the last day of November. Time to transition.

· Tea time (and clearly missing Disneyland) [3rd photo].

· When it’s almost midnight, you can’t go wrong with a Dylan’s chocolate bar [4th photo].

· I want to try this recipe – yum!

Have a wonderful weekend!

In the Spotlight: Grace Kelly

Happy birthday, Grace Kelly! Born November 12, 1929, Grace Kelly epitomized the very essence of elegance. Starting out as an American actress, she married the Prince of Monaco in 1956 and became Princess Grace. Grace Kelly performed in many theatrical productions, but ultimately became a movie star after winning the Academy Award for The Country Girl. After 6 years of acting, Princess Grace decided to take care of her three children. In 1982, Princess Grace died in a car accident after supposedly suffering from a stroke. Her daughter, Stephanie, was in the car with her but survived the accident. With a successful acting career, Grace Kelly will not soon be forgotten, and she continues to grace the screen and captivate viewers after all these years.

Flavor of the Month: Cranberry

1. Lemon and Cranberry Muffins | 2. Almond Cranberry Creme Fraiche Bundts
3. Cranberry-Red Wine Meatballs | 4. Cranberry and Pecan Brie En Croute
5. Cranberry Chambord Sorbet

With November comes delicious foods like turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. However, one ingredient that is often underrated is cranberry. Besides the usual cranberry jelly spread over warm turkey, cranberry can be incorporated into many other meal and dessert recipes. For a touch of sweetness, cranberry sorbet and bundts are a great dessert alternative. Cranberry muffins are a perfect fall morning treat, and cranberry-red wine meatballs are an upgrade from your typical tomato spaghetti and meatballs. Whether you are making lunch or Thanksgiving dinner, these cranberry recipes will be an automatic flavor boost.

How will you include cranberry in your meals this month?

Friday’s Features

♥ Obviously, one of the best ways to say thank you

I hope you all had a wonderful and warm Thanksgiving! I can’t believe how quickly November passed. I know I say this at the end of every month, but November flew by faster than October! The end of the semester is a mere two weeks away, and I am left with multiple papers, final presentations, and final project images that need Photoshopping! It is nice to have some time with family, all of whom I am so grateful for. Now’s the time to let your belly rest, or hit the gym, or just snack on leftovers while reading a thrilling book (read: The Hunger Games and Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? And Other Concerns – I am often between two books, and have learned that if I don’t make time to read it’ll never happen). So here’s to ending your Thanksgiving week with a bang!

Falling For These Movies

It seems as though there are just as many movies coming out in the Fall as there are fashion trends for the September Issue of Vogue. There may not be time for all of them, but I am going to try my hardest to make room to see these ones. It seems to be perfect timing now that the days are getting darker sooner…I view it as nature’s way of saying to put those hiking boots away and to make time for the movie theater.

Movie and Release Date:
1. I Don’t Know How She Does It – September 16
2. What’s Your Number – September 30
3. Like Crazy – October 28
4. My Week With Marilyn - November 4
5. 50/50 - September 30
6. Drive – September 16
7. In Time – October 28
8. Rum Diary - October 28
