That’s a Wrap!

Happy Friday! Wrapping up the week with a recap…

· When Mickey-shaped waffles are for breakfast, you know it’s going to be a great day [1st photo].

· Ate at Mozza again - the pizza was tasty as usual.

· Saw the Stanley Kubrick exhibit at the LACMA last weekend - it was interesting to see the script notes and storyboards of the films I’ve watched in Film History class [2nd photo].

· Urban Lights at LACMA are always stunning [3rd photo].

· Elvis and Sophia Loren.

· Last weekend I tried Gordon Ramsey’s new restaurant at The Grove: The Fat Cow. Delicious! [4th photo].

· Movie this weekend: Lincoln.

Have a productive weekend!

That’s a Wrap!

Happy Friday! Wrapping up the week with a recap…

· Finally went to the Sprinkles ATM and it was worth every bite. Next time, I want to try Sprinkles Ice Cream [pic above].

· Can’t wait to see Pitch Perfect this weekend – it actually looks pretty good. Looper is also on the top of my list.

· I have been getting really into The Voice – this is my first season watching it! Does anyone else like it?

· Made an impromptu trip to L.A. last weekend and dined at Mozza – always a great choice.

· I could eat breakfast for every single meal. These look so good.

Have a lovely weekend!

Around Town: Babbo, New York City

Mario Batali can do no wrong. After loving Pizzeria Mozza and Eataly, I wanted to try out Batali’s New York City restaurant, Babbo Ristorante, to see what all the amazing reviews were about. Babbo is on a side street in the West Village,  and it could not be more charming. With a dim and intimate downstairs and an airy and spacious upstairs, Babbo offers a comfortable and private space to dine with friends and family. The food is made from local and fresh ingredients, and the flavors in each dish are incredibly rich. The Mozzarella di Bufala appetizer had the freshest mozzarella I have ever tasted. You definitely will not be disappointed here.

· · ·

Setting: Intimate, cozy, and comfortable

Good for: Family dinner, date night, business meetings

What to order: Mozzarella di Bufalawith Ramps and Olio Verde, Black Spaghetti with Rock Shrimp, Spicy Salami Calabrese and  Green Chilies, Pappardelle Bolognese, and Goose Liver Ravioli with Balsamic Vinegar and Brown Butter

Downsides: It can be hard to get a table, so be sure to make a reservation

Recommend: Sharing an appetizer with your friends/family and having your own main dish

That’s a Wrap!

· The 4th of July fireworks show in NYC was spectacular, as usual. I loved the fireworks that looked like smudges, the ones that shimmered, and the ones that exploded and then moved around like little worms (you know what I mean?)

· Saw two movies that you should add to your Weekend Watch list: The Intouchables and Ted. Both were laugh out loud hilarious.

· Ate pizza at Grimaldi’s (not as great as it is hyped up to be..Mozza is so much better) and Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory (yum!). Admired the NYC skyline and read…a great way to celebrate the long weekend (photo above)!

· My sister made this for dinner, confirming that no matter how hot it is outside, comfort food will always win.

· I am ready for a getaway…take me somewhere beautiful and relaxing!

Have a restful weekend!
