Around Town: Some Crust, Claremont

Some Crust is the hidden gem in the Claremont Village. Mainly frequented by the Claremont Colleges students, professors, and nearby residents, Some Crust is tucked between a Mexican restaurant (which I don’t recommend) and a hair salon. I heard about it through word of mouth, and I don’t even want to think of what my life would be like today if I hadn’t known about this seriously incredible bakery (kind of joking). Not only are their cookies and brownies insanely delicious, but they have one item in particular that is a daily bestseller: egg sliders. Egg sliders are basically breakfast sandwiches that you custom order, and depending on what time you go, the wait can be up to 45 minutes (yes, I’ve waited…). Some Crust offers a variety of great sandwiches and drinks, also. Really, you can’t lose when you come here, and you certainly won’t regret whatever you order – no matter how long the wait.

Setting: Cozy and intimate

Good for: Breakfast dates with friends, solo meals, and mid-day snacks

What to order: Egg Sliders, Pesto Chicken Sandwich, any of their baked goods – too many choices to just pick one

Downsides: The wait…I recommend getting there either really early (6:30 – 7am) or 10am. Some Crust serves egg sliders until dinner, so don’t worry about only getting there in the morning

Recommend: Egg Slider, Iced Latte, and a cookie to top it all off!
