In the Sex and the City movie, Carrie and Big celebrate their wedding reception at New York’s Buddakan, located at 75 9th Avenue. Having seen the movie, I walked into Buddakan and was surprised that it looked exactly as it did on the big screen. The movie really captured the hip vibe of this modern Asian cuisine restaurant. I tried several of the appetizers, including the Cantonese Spring Rolls and Pork Potstickers, and enjoyed the whole Peking duck as a main course. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at Buddakan, and it felt like a scene straight out of a movie…literally. If you’re in NYC and want to try another SATC location, try this.

Setting: Large space with low lighting
Good for: Date night, girls night out, wedding reception, night on the town
What to order: Cantonese Spring Rolls, Lobster Egg Rolls, and Whole Peking Duck
Downsides: The lighting is a little too dark – I like to be able to see what I’m eating
Recommend: Getting dressed up and having a fun night out with friends! Buddakan is a trendy and swanky place to eat
