It is so fun seeing something you saw in a movie in real life. When I see restaurants or stores in movies, I wonder if it is a real place or if it was built on a set (such as Central Perk in Friends). If you watch Sex and the City, you might notice Carrie Bradshaw sitting on a bench enjoying a sweet cupcake. It is the scene where she tells Miranda about her crush on Aiden and that she “believes him to be very cute.” The bakery that these close friends sit outside of is Magnolia Bakery in New York City. There are 4 Magnolia Bakery locations in NYC, including Bleecker Street, Columbus Avenue, Rockefeller Center, and Grand Central Terminal. If you aren’t in Big Apple, they also have locations in Los Angeles and Dubai.
The cupcakes (and other variety of goods they have) are seriously sweet, and are definitely a mouthful. I quite enjoy the vanilla cupcake with chocolate icing, though, to be honest, I prefer Crumbs, Sprinkles, and Frosted Cupcakery over Magnolia Cupcakes. Regardless, these are still a fun treat for strolling in Central Park, around Soho, or even for when you watch a couple of SATC episodes!
